Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Quickstep refers to the couple dance, and not the military march. "Belledune Quickstep" was originally recorded in 1929 by Girard & Bernaquez as "Reel la Louise," and in 1932 by fiddler Eugene Demers as "Reel Helena." Fiddlers Joseph and Anthony Drody, originally from the Douglastown, eastern Gaspe, Quebec, region, played the tune as "Mrs. Napoleon Rooney's Tune," learned from a neighbor woman.
