MISS ISABELLA MURDOCH'S REEL. Scottish, Reel (cut time) or Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune is very close to Edinburgh dancing master William Borrowman's "Duchess of Buccleugh's Reel (3) (The)", especially when the dotted rhythms are removed. Robert Hughes (Whitchurch, Shropshire) entered a cognate (though somewhat distanced) version in his 1823 music manuscript collection as an untitled reel (No. 77).
