"Goddesses [2]" was also entered in the early 19th century music copybook of Lincolnshire fifer John Buttery, who joined the British 34th Regiment while still in his teens. He served for twenty years before being discharged. Later in life he emigrated to Ontario, Canada, taking his music manuscript with him.
