MISS FARQUARSON BALDOVIE'S DELIGHT.  Scottish, Slow Jig or Air (6/8 time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Baldovie is an estate in Forfarshire that became the property of John Farquharson through marriage. John wed Elizabeth Ramsay in 1766, and with her acquired the estate of Baldovie, which she inherited from her uncle, Dr. Thomas Ogilvie. They had two daughters, both of whom are buried with their parents. John and Elizabeth's son, Thomas Farquharson of Baldovie (1770-1860), a magistrate and deputy lieutenant of Forfarshire, succeeded to the estate, was the last of the line.
