REEL DE CAP-CHAT. AKA - "Cap Chat". French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Cap-Chat, Québec, is a village of about 3,000 residents on the north shore of the Gaspé Peninsula that takes its name from a headland that is purported to resemble a feline. The reel is from the repertoire of Montreal accordion player Tommy Duchesne, a professional traditional musician who performed c. 1930 to 1974.
