VALSE DES POELES (Waltz of the Stoves). French-Canadian, Waltz (3/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. "Waltz des poeles" was composed by Simon Riopel, who had spent the day hauling heavy stoves and whose exhausted hands could barely move by the end of the task. Still wanting to play music, he composed this tune that was not too taxing on his sore fingers.
