RAFFERTY'S REEL.  AKA and see "Blackthorn Stick (4) (The)," "Jolly Clam-diggers (1) (The)," "Old Blackthorn (The)," "Rising Sun (2) (The)," "Rising of the Sun (1) (The),"  "Strone Johnny (1)."  Irish, Reel (cut time). The reel was recorded under the "Rafferty's Reel" title by Frank Quinn (1893-1964), a prolific recording artist in the 78 RPM era on fiddle and melodeon.  He was from Greagh,Drumlish, County Longford, before emigrating to New York City. His recording career seems to have ceased around 1934.
