BOYS IN THE GAP [2] (Na Buacaillide 'nNsa m-Bearna). AKA and see "Cat in the Hopper," "Lord Doneraile," "My Mother-in-Law," "Straddle the Donkey," "When she cam ben." Irish, Air (6/8 time, "with spirit"). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. No relation to the reel of the same title. The melody has become a popular New England contra dance vehicle under the title " Cat in the Hopper." See Scottish antecedent "Laird o' Cockpen."
