X:2 T:Bededine(?) Quadrille, The T:Perhaps "Belledine" or "Belledune"? T:As played by Fidel Martin M:6/8 L:1/8 N:Probably was played on a fiddle tuned one tone down from the standard tuning. N:This transcription aims to show how it would be played on a violin with N: standard tuning. So it's one tone higher than the recording. N:From an August 24, 1966, field recording of the playing of Fidel N:Martin (1891-1976) of Berlin N.H., originally from Rogersville, NB, recorded N:by folklorist Art Rosenbaum. Martin, a WWI veteran, had a repertory that N:consisted of Acadian, Irish, American and French-Canadian tunes. X:1 T:Bedevin Quadrille T:Quadrille Bédévine T:(a simplified version) M:6/8 N:This is a simplified version based on the Fidel Martin recording. The aim here is just N:to give the basic melodic structure of the tune, without any frills, ornaments or N:variations. N:It's not to be taken too "literally" or seriously - for instance I put gec c2c for the second bar, but N:it could just as well have put gcc ~c3; that would also work.
