STRATHDOWN. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833), and first printed in his 1781 collection (p. 10). Strath means 'valley', and Strathdown is the 'valley of the Down River'.
