HUMOURS OF LISHEEN, THE. AKA and see "Dwyer's Jig," "Thrush in the Straw (2) (The)," "Woeful Widow (The)." Irish, Jig. Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork/Kerry border. E Minor/G Major. Standard tuning (tuning). ABB' (Moylan): AABB (Cranitch). Lisheen is a Lisheen is a crossroads settlement about a mile and a half from Knocknagree, County Kerry. The tune has been a popular one with Sliabh Luachra musicians over the years, remarks Maire O'Keeffe. Paul de Grae identifies a variant-with a slightly different second part-printed in Bulmer & Sharpley Music from Ireland (vol. 3, No. 62) under the title "Thrush in the Straw (2) (The)." O'Neill prints a version as "Woeful Widow (The)."
