MOULIN À VENT, LE (The Windmill). AKA and see "Up Country." French-Canadian, Jig (6/8 time). Canada, New Brunswick. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Canadian radio and TV fiddler Don Messer recorded this jig under the title "Up Country," and it is sometimes attributed to him^[1]. However, Peter Corfield finds the jig was known to Messer's contemporary Acadian fiddlers such as Gerry Robichaud and Eddie Poirier as "Le moulin à vent" (The Windmill) and he lists it as "Trad." in his book.
