Also a bridal dance in Galloway, ancient district in south-west Scotland." Fleischmann's source is "JOHN JOHNSON - TWELVE COUNTRY DANCES FOR THE HARPSICHORD with proper Figures or Directions for each Dance, collected for the year 1749. London, 1749" p. 11
