Biographical notes
JOSEPH "JOE/JOS" BOUCHARD (1905-1979) grand master of the "vrai jeu du Québec" and child prodigy (he began his career at the age of 12), received his primary tutelage from Elie Sioué, a Native American of the Réserve De l'Ancienne-Lorette. As with many musicians, he was unable to make a living from his music and had to hold a position at Canadian National for 32 years. He performed with accordionist Théodore Duguay's Montagnards Laurentiens on the radio station CHRC in 1948. He also played in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. He remains a reference for his style and sensitivity.
