DREAM OF HOME, THE (An Tnúthán i ndiadh an Bhaile). AKA and see "Maids in the Meadow (The)," "Maid in the Meadow (The)," "Gearrchaile sa Mhóinéar (An)," "Michael Relihan's," "Mick Relihan's." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Editor Jackie Small (CRÉ V) says the tune "is very popular among musicians in recent years" (i.e. late 1990's), and the transcriber for Treoir, Seamus Mac Mathuna, said he picked it up "at a recent session" in 1970. Breathnach's source Barrett called the tune "Mick Relihan's," and the tune is attributed to Relihan in Treoir (vol. 2, No. 4). Breathnach had the "Dream of Home" title from a manuscript source.
