"Thought" was entered into a section of tunes dedicated to the compositions of late 18th century uilleann piper Waker "Piper" Jackson in Book IV (p. 2) of the large mid-19th century century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper [[wikipedia:James Goodman (musicologist)|]]. Compare with "Cherish the Ladies" in Elias Howe's 500 Irish Melodies (p. 220).
