TRIP TO THE FURZE. Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. The tune is attributed by County Cork Church of Ireland cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman (1828-1896) to the famous late 18thcentury uilleann piper Walker ‘Piper’ Jackson, of the townland of Lisdaun, parish of Ballingarry, Aughrim, County Limerick. The tonic note could be either 'A' or 'G'.
