TRALEE HORNPIPE. AKA - "Tralee Lodge." Irish, Hornpipe (whole time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The first strain is shared with "Old Zip Coon" and "Turkey in the Straw." "Tralee Hornpipe" was entered into volume 4 (p. 158) of the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork Church of Ireland cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman. Lisa Shields finds the tune as "Tralee Lodge," first published in Isaac Willis's Willis's Select Collection of Country Dances, Waltzes, Quadrilles, etc. (Dublin, c. 1830).
