HUNT THE WHISTLE. English, Slip Jig. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was originally printed in Charles and Samuel Thompson's third country dance collection (London, 1773). It was entered into the 1788 music manuscript copybook of fiddlers John and William Pitt Turner (Norwich, Conn.).
