I'LL LAY NO MORE WITH MY MOTHER. Scottish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune was composed by Joseph Reinagle about 1783???. The title, according to Johnson, means, 'I won't need to share a bed with my mother any longer (as I'll soon have a husband)'. The melody appears in the (James) Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768).
