BARBARA ALLAN [1]. AKA and see "The Old Woman in the Glen [1]." Scottish, Air (4/4 time). Appears in the McFarlane MS., 1740, in drawing room style. See Charles Seegar's "Versions and Variants of Barbara Allen" (1966) for a thorough ethnomusicological treatise on this tune family.
