BASKET OF OYSTERS [1]. AKA and see "Paddy the Weaver." English, Quickstep and Jig. G Major. Standard tuning. AABB. There were a few tunes by this title in period manuscripts. "Basket of Oysters [1]" appears in Glasgow publisher James Aird's Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 3 of 1788 (188), wherein "Paddy the Weaver" is given as an alternate title.
