MR. MARSHALL'S COMPLIMENTS TO NIEL GOW. Scottish, Slow Air or March (4/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833) in honor of the famous fiddler and composer Niel Gow (who spelled his first name Niel). This despite the fact that many of Marshall’s tunes appeared in Gow family publications without attribution, and sometimes with different titles altogether.
