JEANIE'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by journeyman composer W.B. Laybourn (1835-1888), who was born in London but who lived for many years in the north of England (North Shields) before finally moving on to Edinburgh. It was Laybourn who was "A Professional Player" credited with editing the Köhlers violin collections of the 1880's. His reel was composed as a companion to "Jeanie of the Glen Strathspey (New)" by James MacQueen.
