JUNIOR CREHAN'S (FAVORITE). AKA and see "Bangor Reel (The)," "Bridie Morley's," "Cronin's Reel (2)," "Indian on the Rock," "Knotted Cord (1) (The)," "Knot in the Cord (The)/Knot on the Cord (The)." Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The tune was recorded in the 1930s on a Decca 78 by John McKenna and Eddie Meehan contained in a medley called "Bridie Morley's." The title honors Martin "Junior" Crehan [1] (1908-1998) the late great fiddler, concertina player, composer, singer, and storyteller of Mullagh, Co. Clare, originally from Ballynakea, near Quilty, Co. Clare.
