CATON'S HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Jefferson City." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Missouri. G Major. Named for regionally influential African-American fiddler Bill Caton (sometimes Katon) who hailed from Tebbbetts, Callaway County, in Mid-Missouri. Caton was a regular on WOS radio broadcasts, accompanied on guitar by Ola Gathright of Jefferson City. The tune is on Charlie Walden's list of '100 essential Missouri fiddle tunes'.
