BIG CAPTAIN OF CARTLEHAUGH, THE. Scottish, Highland Schottische or Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning. AB. Composed by the great Scots fiddler-composer J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927). Cartlehaugh is in Old Deer, Aberdeenshire. It is the birthplace in 1886 of Scots fiddler James F. Dickie, whose style was influenced by Skinner.
