GALLAGHER'S JIG [1]. AKA and see "Cunla," "Frieze Britches (1)," "I Buried My Wife," "On St. Patrick's Day I Was Gay," "Trumlo." Irish, Jig. Ireland, County Donegal. A pipe tune in the repertoire of Teelin, Donegal, fiddlers Francie and Mickey Byrne, who, according to Feldman & O'Doherty (Northern Fiddler, 1979), probably had the tune from traveling piper Mickey Gallagher (a cousin of Donegal fiddler John Doherty's). See also "Gallagher's Lament."
