JOHNNY McILJOHN'S [1]. AKA - "Johnnie Macclejohn." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Mallinson): AABB (Sullivan). A variant of "Silver Spear (The)." According to the Boys of the Lough ("Recorded Live, 1975") the tune is sourced to Leitrim musician Tommy Maguire, who had it from his father John Maguire, known as Johnny McIljohn. "He lilted the tune regularly at country house ceilidhs so his name became associated with the tune."
