KATIE TAYLOR. AKA and see "Little Katie Taylor," "Paddy Taylor's Reel (3)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by London-based flute player Paddy Taylor (1912-1976, originally from County Limerick), named for his daughter. Similarities (especially in the first part) with flute player Josie McDermott's "Lansdowne Lass," and with "Slate Roof (The)" in Martin Mulvihill's 1986 1st Collection. The melody appears in Bulmer and Sharpley's Music from Ireland, vol. IV (c. mid-1970's) under the title "Mick O'Connor's" (the name of their source, who actually had the tune from the composer, Paddy Taylor).

Source for notated version:

Printed sources: Bulmer & Sharpley (Music from Ireland), vol. 3.

Recorded sources: Altan - "Horse with a Heart" (4th reel of "Curlew" set).
