GORTHLECK'S HIGHLAND PLAID (Breacan ùr Fhir Ghortuileic). Scottish, Strathspey. E Mixoldyian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCCD. See note for "Belted Plaid and Health to Wear It (The)." From the Simon Fraser collection (1816). Thomas Fraser of Gorthleck was Simon Fraser's maternal grandfather. Gorthleck [1] is a small hamlet on the north shore Loch Mhòr in Inverness-shire, in the Scottish Highlands.
