BOTTLE BANK, THE. English, Scottish; Hornpipe. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition was credited to the great 19th century hornpipe composer James Hill, of Tyneside, Newcastle, in Kohler's Violin Repository. Bottle Bank was the main route from Gateshead to the Old Tyne Bridge, and was the place Hill made his home for many years.
