The tune was entered into the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper biography:James Goodman as "Trip to the Garret" in a section of tunes attributed to piper Jackson. County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier also entered the tune into his c. 1883 music manuscript collection with the title variant "Jackson's Kiss in the Garrett."
