"Jackson's Strathspey" was composed by dairy farmer, miller, sometime printer and bookbinder and fiddler biography:James Barry (1819-1906) of Six Mile Brook, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Barry, who sometimes left notes in his ms. on pairings and other directions, indicated his "Jackson's Strathspey" was a reel to follow the strathspey "Hattieburn House."
