MISS MENZIES OF CULDAR [2]. AKA and see "Miss Bain's Reel." Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. James Aird printed the tune as "Miss Bain's Reel" in his Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 5 (1798). The tune, perhaps composed by Biography:Malcolm MacDonald, as published in his first collection of 1788 paired on the page with his “Inch of Garth.” The exact dates of publication of volumes of that are often approximate, but it seems the 'Bains' and 'Menzies' version of the tune coexisted at around the same time.

MacDonald's reel does not appear to be related to "Miss Menzies of Culdares (1)."
