NEW SHEEP (??) QUICK MARCH. AKA and see "Emelia's Favorite," "Weymouth Quickstep (The)." English, March (6/ 8 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCD. The improbably named "New Sheep Quick March" (the name in the ms. is hard to read) is contained in the large music manuscript collection of the Winder Family of Troutbeck, Lake District, England, specifically in the ms. of E. and J. Winder (1835-41). Fr. John Quinn finds versions of the tune in Boston music publisher Elias Howe's 1000 Jigs and Reels (1867) under the title "Emelia's Favorite," and in the Charleton Memorial Tune Book as "Weymouth Quickstep (The)."
