QUADRILLE DE RIMOUSKI 6ÈME PARTIE. French-Canadian, Quadrille (cut and 3/2 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAABC. Ethnomusicologist Jean Duval finds the first strain of "Quadrille de Rimouski 6ème partie" is common to several other pieces, including Soucy and Lafleur's "Jolie veuve (La)" (The Pretty Widow) also recorded in 1928. Duval notes that Philippe Gagnon, a popular fiddler in the 1970's, had lyrics for this tune that begin: "Si l'hiver peut prendre..." (If winter can take…).
