The tune is contained in vol. 2 (p. 160) of the large mid-19th century music manuscript of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist). Goodman researchers Hugh and Lisa Shields find cognate tunes in Goodman's own "Midnight Maid (The)" (vol. 3, p. 158), and "Banks of the Ilen (The)" and record that he obtained the tune from a manuscript provided by Dublin bookseller John O'Daly[1].
