RÓIS BHEAG DUBH, AN (The Small Black Rose). AKA and see "Little Black Rose (3)," "Róisín Dubh (1)." Irish, Air (3/4 time). Ireland, A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A hexatonic variant of ""Roisin Dubh (1)]]," "set according to the version in the lower Glens of County of Antrim" (Bunting). Bunting thought the version's tonic to be an 'E' rather than an 'A' and ended it on that note, but O'Sullivan corrected it to an 'A' note, suggesting that Bunting "connected [the E notes] with his attempt to harmonise the piece in E minor."
