DEW DROP HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Butterfly Hornpipe," "Larry O'Niel's Clog." American, Hornpipe. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The 'B' part of this melody appears in the tune "Brilliancy." There was a variety house called the Dew Drop In in New York in the Civil War years. Massachusetts fiddler Frank Ferrel notes the tune was a favorite of Cape Breton fiddler Joe Cormier. Ferrel and J.P. Cormier played it at Joe's memorial service. See note for "Larry O'Niel's Clog" for more.
