GRANNY WENT TO MEETING WITH HER OLD SHOES ON. American. USA, Ky. D Major. Standard or ADae tuning (fiddle). AABB. Learned by the banjo playing Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Judd ("prosperous Kentucky farmers") around 1900. Apparently, says Titon (2001), it was a local tune known to only a few informants.

Granny went to meeting with her old shoes on,
She came back with a new pair on.

However, the similarly-titled tune by Mississppi fiddler Frank Kittrell, "Want to go to Meeting and Got No Shoes," is clearly related.
