GREEN PIGEON, THE (An Colúr Glas). AKA - "Blue Pigeon (The)," "Green Pidgeon." AKA and see "Four Courts (3) (The)." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Breathnach's source had no name for the tune, although the collector had found a version of it in Book 1 (p. 39) of the wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist) (1828-1896) music manuscripts (c. 1860's, southwest Munster), under the title "Green Pi(d)geon." A simplified version also can be found in D. Curtin's (Sliabh Luachra) mid-19th century music manuscript collection, also as "Green Pidgeon." The melody appears as "The Blue Pi(d)geon" in Book 2 of the c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier.

"Four Courts (3) (The)" is a cognate melody.
