"Hill Lilly" was printed as a hornpipe by the Elias Howe company in Boston in the 1880's, and identically as "Western Gem" and "St. Botolph Hornpipe" in another Howe company publication, Ryan's Mammoth Collection, also from the 1880's. Set as a reel, it was recorded by Canadian radio and TV fiddler Don Messer and his group in 1947.
