HUNTERS OF KENTUCKY, THE. AKA and see "Allie Croker," "Half Horse and Half Alligator." American, English (originally); Air (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Howe categorizes the tune among the 'songs' section, and, indeed, it has a venerable history [see LAWS A25]. It is a version of the Northumbrian tune "Allie Croker."
