JUDY'S REEL. AKA and see "Barmaid (The)," "Green Mountain (2)," "Haymaker Reel (1) (The)," "Indy's Favorite," "Little Judy," "Maid Behind the Bar (1)," "Maids of Castlebar (The)." Irish, New England; Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. As the "Maid Behind the Bar (1)" this tune is a staple at Irish music sessions, and often one of the first reels taught. Ryan's/Cole's also prints the tune as "Indy's Favorite." New York researcher, writer and musician Don Meade points out "Judy's Reel" was the title Boston button accordion player Jerry O'Brien used on his old Copley recording (see also Annotation:Little Judy).
