MR. JAMES McGRIGOR. Scottish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Walker (for b. 1819) Mr. James McGrigor of Tealing House. Tealing House was a mansion in Angus, dating from the 15th century when it was owned by the Maxwell family. It still exists, but in deteriorating condition. A few years after Walker published his collection a 1st-2nd century AD souterrian was discovered (1871), situated immediately to the west of Tealing Burn and Home Farm.
