The group Altan recorded a related version of the first strain of the reel as "[[King of Meenasillagh (The)]]" (Rí Mín na Sailleachon) their album "Another Sky" (2000), learned from Donegal fiddler James Byrne. See also the related first strain of "[[Captain O'Neill]]" and “[[O'Rourke's]]." The first strain of "Push about the Jorum [2]" is similar to the first strain of the country dance reel "[[Britannia's Promise]]" AKA "[[Trip to Gallaway]]," printed in England in the mid- and latter 18th century.
