AABB. The British "[[Hey My Nanny]]" is a distanced version of this Irish slip jig; there are several versions of the British tune, with the one printed by the Gows being most similar to the one printed by Roche. A Dorian versions exist, with a different second strain, under the titles "Up in a Garret" and "[[Above in a Garret]]." Canon [[wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist)]] collected the tune in mid-19th century County Cork, although it seems a poor and unrealized version of the melody printed sixty years later by Frank Roche. <br> <br> See also Goodman's "[[Follow Me Lads (2)]]", a variant of "[[Hey My Nanny]]", similar primarily in the first strain.
