Source for notated version: "O'Brien" [O'Neill], referring perhaps to James "Jimmy" O'Brien, a piper originally from Swineford, County Mayo (1823-1885), who emigrated to Portland, Maine, in the 1860's. He made his way to Boston, and, by 1875, to Chicago, where he was an influential member of the Irish music community.
