Dan R. was a prolific composer born in Judique, Inverness County, Cape Breton, although many of his adult years were spent in the Detroit/Windsor area. There he was part of a large expatriate Cape Breton community, and was a member of the Five MacDonald Fiddlers, before returning to Cape Breton after he retired.
